You will travel on rough adventurous roads, pass tiny rural settlements and see fascinating landscapes and abundant wildlife. All your senses will be involved; from smelling early morning coffee, experiencing the thrill of a kill to the chill of a morning game drive. Falling asleep to the hooting of an owl or waking up with the roaring of a lion is what you will experience. The safari experience is all the more intense as you are ‘right in the middle’ of it all. The nearness to the nature, especially at night with its nocturnal sounds, compensates for the luxury of a lodge. Our camping safaris in Africa offer all of this and are therefore perfect for nature lovers and those who are looking for a break from civilization and its comforts. Africa Camping Safari Packages
A camping safari in the bush of Africa is the quintessential private African safari experience. No need for Glamping. Just a piece of cloth between you and the African night. A quire of nocturnal birds, insects and distant roaring lions lullabies you to sleep. If you ever wanted to experience what people mean when they talk about the ‘African bush’, here it is. Open the zipper of your tent and feel it. Africa Camping Safari is a unique way of enjoying the African safari. It is not only affordable but it is a great adventure to take in Africa. Imagine yourself under canvass under the African clear sky with Stars shining above you, or sitting around a camp fire in the middle of nowhere in a public campsite at the center of Serengeti National Park’s endless Savannah plains. You don't need to bring a thing! Kim Tours a provides all necessary camping equipment. We provide tents, sleeping bags, safari chairs, and a fold-out table for dinner. You don't even have to worry about set-up, as your guide will construct your tent while you freshen up! (Of course, we're sure he wouldn't say no to a little help) All camping sites are secured and have public toilets and bathrooms. Rangers patrol the camp sites to ensure that wildlife don't get too curious about campers.
Food on Safari: A Delicious Experience
You don't need to worry about food while on a African camping safari, nor will you have to make do with boring meals of canned food.
Sample Menu
Kim'zebra Adventures & Safaris provides a trained personal chef for all of our camping safaris. Using local ingredients and able to cater to any dietary preference, your private chef will prepare warm, delicious meals for breakfast and dinner. Below, you'll find a sample menu. We can adapt this to cater to any dietary requirement you might have, and can design it to represent either 'western' or African cuisine.
Breakfast: Fruits, Toast with butter, jam, marmalade, and honey, Eggs, Sausages, Beans, Porridge, Tea & coffee, Mineral water, Juice
Picnic Lunch: Sandwiches, Juice, Boiled eggs, Roast chicken, Chocolate, Cheese, Fruits, Mineral water, Coffee & tea
Dinner: Appetizer (Seasonal) e.g. Avocado salad, Soup (Seasonal) e.g. Tomato soup, Rice and vegetable, chicken, or beef curry, French fries/hot chips, Potato salad, Macaroni salad, Roast potatoes, Fish, Roast chicken, Ugali, Matoke, BBQ beef
Tea & coffee: Mineral water, Evening Snack, Tea & coffee, Roasted peanuts, Popcorn, Biscuits
What to Bring
In addition to the other items you would bring on any safari, you will need to bring toiletries (soap, shower gel, shampoo etc.) and a towel for bathing. Everything else is provided.
