Get up close and personal to the big cats at the AfriCat Foundation at Okonjima. Enjoy a big game safari in Etosha National Park. View the wonderful riverine birdlife and wildlife of the Caprivi Strip bordering Botswana's Okavango Delta. Visit the spectacular Victoria Falls and canoe along the Zambezi.These itineraries are designed to give you some suggestions for what is possible when you travel in Namibia, and they showcase some of the routes that we’ve found work particularly well.

Luxury Safari

DAY 1

Arrival at Windhoek Airport

On arrival at Windhoek Airport you will be met by your driver and driven to your guesthouse in the centre of town. This afternoon our representative will meet with you to answer any last minute questions you may have and your vehicle will be delivered whilst they're present.

DAY 2

The Central Highlands

Today you will head up to the Central Highlands where you will be staying at Okonjima Plains Camp. It may be worth stopping off at one of the supermarkets in Windhoek to stock up on snacks and water for the journey. Whilst you are staying here you will have the opportunity to go on cheetah and leopard tracking drives. If you would like to head out on an afternoon activity I would recommend that you aim to arrive early afternoon.

DAY 3

Etosha National Park

Today your journey continues to the eastern side of Etosha National Park. Here you will stay just outside the Von Lindequist Gate for two nights at Mushara Bush Camp.

DAY 4

Etosha National Park

Today you can either drive into the park yourselves or join one of the guides from Mushara and head into the park (payable locally) — with the expert eyes of your guide it is likely you will see more than if you were travelling on your own.

DAY 5

Rundu

You will drive onward into the Caprivi today — the road is good quality tarmac so you should be able to make fast progress. Hakusembe has a lovely riverside location just outside Rundu and you might like to take an evening boat cruise (payable locally).

DAY 6

Popa Falls and Mahangu Game Reserve

Today is a relatively short drive to River Dance Lodge, very close to the border of Botswana. This national park is incredibly varied combining both the aridness of the Kalahari with the lushness of the Okavango.

DAY 7

Popa Falls and Mahangu Game Reserve

Today you will have the chance to go on both a river cruise and also a game drive if you wish (payable locally) or alternatively explore under your own steam. There are more species of birds here than any other national park in Namibia as well as a number of larger mammals.

DAY 8

Mudumu and Nkasa Lupala National Park

Today your journey continues along the Caprivi Strip through the Bwabwata Game Park (formerly the Caprivi Game Park) and on to the Nkasa Lupala National Park. You will stay at Nkasa Lupala Lodge for three nights. You might like to head out on a sundowner game drive with your guide after settling into the lodge (payable locally).

DAY 9

Mudumu and Nkasa Lupala National Park

Head out on safari with your guide today. Activities are booked and paid for locally and these include early morning and late afternoon game drives, motorboat cruises, mokoro rides and walking safaris.

DAY 10

Victoria Falls

This morning you will leave Nkasa Lupala and drive across the border into Botswana. Leave your car at Chobe Safari Lodge in Kasane and then a driver will pick you up and take you across the border into Zambia. Spend the next three nights at Waterberry Zambezi Lodge. Waterberry Lodge is around forty minutes away from Victoria Falls, located on the banks of the Zambezi River. The location is perfect because you can escape the crowds around the fall

DAY 11

Victoria Falls

While you are at Waterberry there are a number of included activities. You can enjoy visits to Victoria Falls, Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park or to local villages and craft markets. Birdwatching, fishing, picnic cruises and sundowners on the river are also available.

DAY 12

Reserved for Departure - Drop off in Livingstone Airport

This morning you will be transferred to Livingstone Airport.

The Tour Price Includes

  • Airport transfers (Pick-up and drop-off)
  • Bottled mineral water in the vehicle while on safari.
  • Accommodation and meals per the itinerary (B=breakfast, L=lunch, D=dinner).
  • Dinner on day 1, breakfast, lunch and dinner on day 2-11 and breakfast on day 12 of your trip.
  • Game drives and all park entry fees 18% VAT on tour fees and service which cost nearly 80% of the total cost.
  • Transport in a 4×4 safari vehicle from your hotel in Arusha to the parks and back (other pick-up points possible, please contact us for the right price)
  • Ground transportation in a 8 setter or 6 setter 4x4 Safari vehicle with English Speaking Driver guide: -
  • 8 setter Safari vehicle has 6 windows seats (in the passenger cabin) and 1 window seat next to the driver (in front)
  • 6 setter Safari vehicle has 4 windows seats (in the passenger cabin) and 1 window seat next to the driver (in front)
  • Accommodation of your choice: from budget camping to staying in luxurious lodges, we can arrange it for you(the prices mentioned above are for overnight stays in Standard to Mid-range hotels/lodge/tented Camps according to the program, other prices are applicable for the other accommodation options).

The Tour Price Excludes

  • Meals not listed above. eg Breakfast and Lunch on the first day, Lunch and Dinner on the last day.
  • Namibian Visa cost which is 50% except for Canadian and USA passport holders which is US$100.
  • International and Domestic Flights and departure taxes (Quoted separately where applicable)
  • Optional activities and excursions (short safari/tour after your Safari can be arranged upon request at an extra cost).
  • Post accommodation in day 12. If you wish, we can however assist you in finding a place that corresponds to your needs and budget.
  • Tips for the crew. We recommend a tip of 25 USD per day for your guide, and 15 USD per day for your cook, to be divided between each member of your group.
  • Inoculations and personal insurance (e.g. Namibian Visa, Travel, Medical and Baggage insurance, A doctor for the group, Laundry, Souvenirs, Telephone, Beverages (available to purchase) and all other services that are not mentioned as included.
  • Holiday Surcharge : A supplement of US $ 40.00 per person per day will apply to all bookings on the 24th, 25th, 26th and 31 December and 1st January
  • A supplement of US $ 35.00 per person will apply to all bookings between Friday 3rd and Monday 6th April (for all 4 days) as Easter holiday surcharge.
