On most of our birdwatching tours we aim to see a wide variety of species, while taking time to enjoy other wildlife as well as cultural highlights and architecture. PRE DAY: Arrival in Arusha-Tanzania

Our Kilimanjaro adventure starts the Moment, on your arrival at Kilimanjaro international Airport / Arusha Airport, one of our welcoming transfer drivers will take you to your choice accommodation for the night, Rest in the afternoon or relax at the pool. Our operations team will meet you to check all your equipment and to give you a thorough briefing of what to expect on your trek and overall safari.

DAY 2

Birding, Photography and Big game viewing.


DINNER & OVERNIGHT AT

Meet Field Crew this morning at 8:00am, drive to Arusha National Park, Birding and Big game viewing rest of the day. Late afternoon return to Arusha at your hotel for Dinner and over night.

DAY 3

Bird Walk around the Hotel grounds before or after.


DINNER & OVERNIGHT AT
Tented Camp on the Serengeti

Depart your Hotel at 7:00am, start the official day of the safari, drive West wards towards Lake Victoria, and the Serengeti. We will take a picnic Lunch out of Arusha, being along day of driving, we will have limited birding stops on the way as our target will be to get to the Serengeti on time. Once on the Serengeti we will commence our Birding and Big game viewing on the way to our accommodation

All the Birding and Big game viewing on the Serengeti, trying to catch up with the Serengeti Big Cats and the Serengeti Endemics.

DAY 5

Big game viewing, Photography and slow pace birding

This morning we will drive West words of the Serengeti to Lake Victoria crossing the Serengeti`s Western Corridor to Lake Victoria.

DAY 6

Big game viewing, Photography and slow pace birding

Day scheduled bird walks on the Spekebay Lodge grounds and surroundings.

DAY 7

Big Game viewing, Photography and slow pace birding

Early Breakfast, Take a picnic Lunch and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, Once on the Crater Floor, Birding & Big game viewing the rest of the day. Here is our chance for the endangered Black Rhino. After the excitement on the Crater Floor ascend the Crater walls and drive to Tloma Hotel near the Karatu Village on the slopes of the Ngorongoro Highlands.

DAY 8

Optional Bird Walks and Hikes

After a relaxing Breakfast, we will embark on an Optional Bird walk (short hike) to the Ngrongoro Highlands, birding for high altitude birds and Nature close-ups on the slopes. For those with the option of an exotic birding style, will relax on the Gibbs farm Grounds, inspecting Feeders with birds coming in and out. After Lunch, drive to Tarangire National Park.

DAY 9

Big Game viewing, Photography and birding

Visiting the Baobab Led Country of Tarangire National Park,at this time of the year Elephants use the Baobab tree for both shed and “snack”. Day will be birding & Big game viewing. Breakfast, Lunches and Dinners at the Lodge.

DAY 10

Birding Lark Plains and Acacia Woods

This morning we will depart Tarangire NP for the Lark Plains North of Arusha, Birding for the endemic and special Larks and related dry country birds in the area

DAY 11

Birding and Bird Photography

Pre breakfast Bird walk on the Lodge grounds, to catch up with the Mt Meru specials and anything that may be at its last western edge towards the East Coast. We start the Second Leg of the tour driving East Words into the Dry Masaai Steppes that is full of a bunch of special dry country birds, after several birding stops, we will check in at the Elephant Motel near Same Village.

DAY 12

Birding and Bird Photography, a few Mammals may be seen

Pre breakfast Birding around the South Pare Mountains dry country bushes and then have the rest of the day in Mkomazi National Park. Lunches locally.

DAY 13

Birding the endemics and Bird Photography

Morning driving to high elevation of the South Pare Mountains for the South Pare White eye endemic and midafternoon drive to the West Usambara Mountains.

DAY 14

Birding the endemics and Bird Photography

Day Birding the West Usambara for the Usambara Endemics and Specials.

DAY 15

Birding the endemics and Bird Photography

Day Birding the West Usambara for the Usambara Endemics and Specials.

DAY 16

This morning we will check out of the West Usambaras to the East Usambaras as we get closer to the East Coast. Birding stops on the way and arriving in time for local birding around the East Usambara Lower forest before getting high into the Amani Nature reserve.

Big Day Hunting for the Amani Nature Forest – East Usambara Specials and coastal endemics.

Mostly driving with a couple of scheduled stops on the busy

Long day drive connecting the North East to the Southern part of Tanzania

Pre Breakfast Dawn and Mid Morning Bird walks in the Miombo woodlands, Birding for Miombo Specials. Afternoon Check out and drive insite Mikumi National Park.

Morning and afternoon Birding & Big game viewing in Mikumi National Park.

DAY 22

Birding the Kilombero Valley Endemics

Check out of Mikumi and Drive South words into Udzungwas and Kilombero Flood Plains. Afternoon Birding for the Kilombero Flood plains endemics

DAY 23

Forest Birding and walks

Birding on Foot / Hiking the East Udzungwa forest for forest Birds and endemic Primates.

DAY 24

Bird stops and Game as we transverse through the Park

Long Day drive, Connecting the Udzungwas to the Great Ruaha National Park. Driving Past Mikumi and Iringa Towns into Ruaha. Late Afternoon Check in.

The Tour Price Includes

  • Airport transfers (Pick-up and drop-off)
  • One way domestic flight from Serengeti to Zanzibar.
  • Bottled mineral water in the vehicle while on safari.
  • Accommodation and meals per the itinerary (B=breakfast, L=lunch, D=dinner).
  • Dinner on day 1, breakfast, lunch and dinner on day 2-29 and breakfast on day 30 of your trip.
  • In case of a camping safari: camping gear like tents, camping mattresses, sleeping bags, pillows, camping chairs, etc.
  • Game drives and all park entry fees 18% VAT on tour fees and service which cost nearly 60% of the total cost.
  • Transport in a 4×4 safari vehicle from your hotel in Arusha to the parks and back (other pick-up points possible, please contact us for the right price)
  • Ground transportation in a 8 setter or 6 setter 4x4 Safari vehicle with English Speaking Driver guide: -
  • 8 setter Safari vehicle has 6 windows seats (in the passenger cabin) and 1 window seat next to the driver (in front)
  • 6 setter Safari vehicle has 4 windows seats (in the passenger cabin) and 1 window seat next to the driver (in front)
  • Accommodation of your choice: from budget camping to staying in luxurious lodges, we can arrange it for you(The prices mentioned above are for overnight stays in Budget/Standard/Mid-range or Luxury hotels/lodges/tented camps according to your choice).

The Tour Price Excludes

  • Meals not listed above. eg Breakfast & Lunch on the first day, Lunch & Dinner on the last day.
  • Tanzania Visa cost which is 50% except for Canadian and USA passport holders which is US$100.
  • International and Domestic Flights and departure taxes (Quoted separately where applicable)
  • Optional activities and excursions (short safari/tour after your Safari can be arranged upon request at an extra cost).
  • Post accommodation in Zanzibar. If you wish, we can however assist you in finding a place that corresponds to your needs and budget.
  • Flights or other transport to Arusha. We can however arrange airport pickup for you. Let us know your itinerary and we’ll make it happen!
  • Tips for the crew. We recommend a tip of 25 USD per day for your guide, and 15 USD per day for your cook, to be divided between each member of your group.
  • Inoculations and personal insurance (e.g. Tanzania Visa, Travel, Medical and Baggage insurance, A doctor for the group, Laundry, Souvenirs, Telephone, Beverages (available to purchase) and all other services that are not mentioned as included.
  • Holiday Surcharge : A supplement of US $ 40.00 per person per day will apply to all bookings on the 24th, 25th, 26th and 31 December and 1st January
  • A supplement of US $ 35.00 per person will apply to all bookings between Friday 3rd and Monday 6th April (for all 4 days) as Easter holiday surcharge.
