Can you imagine viewing the majestic Serengeti from a completely different angle, where no road has to be followed and total freedom is the main feeling of your day? What if we told you we can make it happen? Join us now on a hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti, combined with a delicious bush breakfast after your landing. An unforgettable adventure!
This package can be booked as an extension to every private safari including Serengeti National Park. It includes a full extra day and night inside the park.
You will leave your accommodation inside Serengeti National Park early in the morning in order to take off shortly before sunrise. A light breakfast can be served beforehand if you wish, and coffee, tea and juice are also served at the take-off site for the hot air balloon.
The captain will give you all the information you need to be prepared for your flight, with details about take-off and landing, what to expect during your flight, and all the necessary safety information. In the mean time, preparations to get the balloon up in the air are being taken in the background.
You will fly over the Serengeti for about an hour, depending on the speed of the wind. You’ll fly away from any road in sight, until it’s only you and the animals. The moment when you realize how endless the ‘endless plains’ of the Serengeti ACTUALLY are is indescribable… and we’re sure you’ll remember it forever.
After landing, champagne and juice are served, and a little bit later we will take you to the breakfast site. A large and varied fresh breakfast will be served right in the middle of the bush, and you can take all the time you need to enjoy it.
You will spend the rest of the day game driving, relaxing at your lodge, or doing a bit of both, exactly as you wish.
We, of course, cannot make you any promises about how you will react, but our own personal experience teaches us that flying a hot air balloon is not a scary experience at all. It can best be compared to looking out of a plane window or standing on a balcony with a sturdy handrail, and not so much with standing on a deep edge with nothing that protects you from falling, for example. While the landing can be a little bit rough, this experience is peaceful and serene, and cannot be compared to an adrenaline-filled adventure that might indeed frighten you if you’re scared of heights.

- Serengeti balloon ride, per person Adult (Above 16yrs) $599, Child (7-16yrs) $545. {Central All year round, Western 15th May - 30th Oct, and North 15th June - 15th Jan} Daily launch at dawn (6:30am) returning approx. 9:45am.
- 1 night accommodation of your choice: from budget camping to staying in luxurious lodges, we can arrange it for you (the prices mentioned above are for overnight stays in Standard lodge/tented Camps according to the program, other prices are applicable for the other accommodation options).

- Tanzania Visa cost which is 50% except for Canadian and USA passport holders which is US$100.
- International and Domestic Flights and departure taxes (Quoted separately where applicable)
- Optional activities and excursions (short safari/tour after your balloon safari can be arranged upon request at an extra cost).
- Transport to and from Serengeti National Park. This package can only be booked as an extension to another (private) safari that provides transport to Serengeti National Park.
- Inoculations and personal insurance (e.g. Tanzania Visa, Travel, Medical and Baggage insurance, A doctor for the group, Laundry, Souvenirs, Telephone, Beverages (available to purchase) and all other services that are not mentioned as included.
- Holiday Surcharge: A supplement of US $ 40.00 per person per day will apply to all bookings on the 24th, 25th, 26th and 31 December and 1st January
- A supplement of US $ 35.00 per person will apply to all bookings between Friday 3rd and Monday 6th April (for all 4 days) as Easter holiday surcharge.
